BY:
Kelley, Boggs and Yeager

SHORT TITLE:

Allowing the department of agriculture to continue to deposit agricultural moneys into a central fund

DATE INTRODUCED:
2/17/99

CODE REFERENCE: Adds a new section to the Agriculture article -- §19-1-4c.

PROPOSED LAW PRESENTED TO THE COMMITTEE:

This bill creates a special revenue account for the Commissioner of Agriculture to deposit moneys received from fines, fees, licenses and other revenue. This agency reports that they have always deposited these fees into a special revenue account and that this proposal would conform to their current practice.

Currently, many of the programs authorized in the Agriculture chapter have special revenue accounts or the fees are collected by an entity other than the agency; therefore, several funds or programs will be excluded from this account.

FISCAL NOTE: There are no increase in fees, etc. This proposal authorizes the deposit of moneys presently collected into a special revenue account.

EFFECTIVE DATE: 90 days

COMMITTEE ACTION: A committee substitute was adopted to make clean-up and technical corrections.
